FAQs
Do you work from a specific shot list for commercial projects?
For brand photography and commercial events, we establish a creative brief and a list of key priorities during pre-production. However, I do not work from a rigid, staged shot list. My process relies on honest observation to capture real interactions, details, and moments as they naturally unfold.
How many images do you deliver, and what is your turnaround time?
A standard full-day documentary commission typically yields a curated gallery of fully edited, high-resolution digital images. I focus on delivering a cohesive narrative series rather than a massive volume of repetitive frames. Final digital galleries are delivered securely within 5 to 10 business days of the shoot depending on complexity.
Can we get immediate images for social media during a live event?
Yes. For real-time event coverage, I can provide your communications team with a curated selection of unedited JPEGs directly during the assignment. This allows your internal marketing teams to post high-quality, authentic content to your social channels immediately, while the final, fully processed narrative gallery is being completed.
Are you available for travel and international assignments?
Yes. As an editorial and documentary photographer, I am available for assignments across the UK and internationally. Travel days, site scouting, and long-distance transit logistics are mapped out during the initial consultation and are billed secondary to the core creative fee.
What are your rates and tiers?
Creative fees are straightforward. A full-day documentary commission is £950 (up to 8 hours), a half-day narrative session is £550 (up to 4 hours), and specialised travel or remote pre-production days are billed at £350. All rates exclude VAT and travel expenses.
What is included in the usage rights?
Baseline rates include standard commercial usage rights for 2 years from image delivery. This allows you to use the imagery across your website, organic social media, email newsletters, and internal publications. Paid print/digital advertising or billboard campaigns require a secondary negotiated license fee.
What are your booking and payment terms?
A 25% non-refundable retainer is required to lock in your date. The remaining 75% balance, along with any accrued expenses, is invoiced after the shoot. Final high-resolution image assets are released once the final invoice is paid in full.
What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule?
If you reschedule with more than 7 days' notice, your 25% deposit transfers to a new date within 6 months. Cancellations made within 7 days of the shoot result in forfeiture of the deposit, and you will be liable for any non-recoverable out-of-pocket expenses already incurred.
What if the weather is unworkable?
Because environmental atmosphere dictates the quality of unposed photography, we map out a backup weather date during pre-production. If we have to move the shoot due to poor weather, no penalty applies and the deposit transfers to the backup date.
